Coalition for Alcohol and Drug Free Pregnancies
About CADFP
Who are we? Coalition for Alcohol & Drug Free Pregnancies (CADFP) is a County-wide effort, begun with funding by Santa Clara County's Department of Alcohol & Drug Services, and includes members of the medical community and public and private organizations, concerned with the adverse health and mental health impacts of alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) use during pregnancy. Research continues to demonstrate that drinking and the use of tobacco and other drugs during pregnancy have not declined. Substance use-related birth defects are completely preventable. CADFP was established to unify efforts to raise awareness and change local practices to reduce perinatal substance use.

Our mission: To raise the capacity of perinatal service providers in Santa Clara County to educate, identify risks, and prevent or treat perinatal substance use.
Our vision: All babies will be born without unnecessary impacts due to perinatal exposure to ATOD; all perinatal providers will agree all women should abstain from ATOD if they are pregnant, considering pregnancy or breast feeding.
